Traditional Day Students
Each traditional undergraduate student enrolled in classes on the main campus in Fort Wayne is assigned a Student Success Advisor based on the academic program they have declared as their major during their first year at Indiana Tech.
Here are some examples of how your Student Success Advisor can benefit you during your time at Indiana Tech:
- Academic success coaching
- Understanding degree requirements
- Course registration prior to the first semester
- Course advising and course registration assistance during the first year
- Connecting students with peer tutors
- Faculty advocacy
- Providing direction and guidance to campus resources
- Academic accountability
- Transitional support throughout the first year
Traditional first-year students are encouraged to meet with their Student Success Advisor at least three times each semester during their first year (six times total). After the first year, students will begin meeting with a faculty member (professor) within their degree program for course advising in future semesters through graduation.
In addition to meeting with your Student Success Advisor, you can reference the Student Success Handbook for tips.
