I have been with Indiana Tech since February 2024. I attended Butler University and Purdue Fort Wayne where I received a bachelor’s degree in political science with a concentration in peace and conflict studies and international studies. My academic experience was unconventional, which helps me understand the myriad of experiences that the students I work with have when they come to Tech. My professional experience includes teaching high school at an alternative school for students with mental health challenges and behavioral issues, working in the non-profit world, and marketing. I am originally from Fort Wayne, IN. The best part of my job is getting to know students and working with them to help them achieve their academic goals through the tutoring program. More importantly, I get to know these incredible, talented students and get to be a small part in helping them become well-rounded people. In my spare time, I enjoy making art, petting every dog that I can, spending time with my family, and travelling.

My journey at Indiana Tech began in 2024, and I’m absolutely thrilled to be here. I have 28 years of experience working in the Special Education field with students K-12. I look forward to collaborating with our students to help remove the barriers they face at Indiana Tech. I’ve found that everyone’s quality of life improves when we are able to interact on a level playing field.

I understand that college can be a struggle. In fact, I dropped out of Valparaiso University my freshman year. Thankfully through the support of friends, family, and the wonderful counselors at V.U., I was able to return to school, and graduate Cum Laude with a double major in English and Education. It is my goal to return that kindness and support to those who may be struggling.

I also understand the challenges that face returning students, as I went back to school in my thirties to pursue my other passion – music. I graduated Cum Laude from Elmhurst College, with a music degree, focused specifically in Jazz.

In my free time, I enjoy traveling and learning about viewpoints that are outside my current experience, such as the two years I spent teaching English in Mexico and China.

I also treasure the time I spend walking my rescue Schnauzers with my wonderful wife, and cooking (mostly) delicious meals upon our return home.
